The Popular 8 Foot Artificial Christmas Tree

The best part of purchasing an artificial Christmas tree is that the height isn’t guessed, it is dead on. While live trees will be offered in a height of 5 feet to over 10 feet, the height itself will never be as exact as an artificial tree. If you buy one too big, you may be leaving the tree-topper star in the box until next year. An 8 foot artificial Christmas tree is one of the most popular sizes to be purchased.

Artificial Christmas trees

The average height of most artificial Christmas trees is 7 feet or so. Those that have the type of ceiling that allows for that extra room will most commonly be purchasing either an 8 foot or 9 foot tree as opposed to 5' unlit artificial Christmas trees.

Like any size artificial tree, there is a variance of models offered. Some models are the traditional plain green, some come in white or other colors (such as blue, pink, red, purple), and some come with the lights already on the branches (also called a pre-lite tree). You can even purchase an 8 foot fiber optic tree, which uses fibers embedded in the branches and a special type of stand with a rotating color wheel which lights the tree.

Trees come in all sorts of heights, from the smallest trees of about 12 inches or so, usually used on table tops or in windows, to the tallest of trees, with can be over 15 feet!

As the height of a tree can vary, so can the width, and an 8 foot artificial Christmas tree can be purchased in a slim fashion, if the area for the tree is not large enough to accommodate standard width.
